There are many moving pieces and a lot of Killjoy kontent to konsume – all summer long, and throughout the academic year. Katch yourself up by listening to the Kamp Krystal Killjoy trailer AND the Konjuring Killjoy Ep. 1 to get a better understanding of the journey on which we are about to embark. New podcast episodes and blog posts should be posted each week, or two.
Konjuring Killjoy podcast episodes will offer a “behind the scenes” listen into how I am working through the literature, concepts, theories, and practical podcast processes to produce this epic sabbatical project. Blog posts (like this one!) will further bring the Killjoy and other visions of feminism (ie: Mona Eltahawy’s 7 Necessary Sins for Women and Girls) to life within the context of current events.
If a world can be what we learn not to notice, noticing becomes a form of political labor… I think this is a promise: once you become a person who notices sexism and racism, it is hard to unbecome that person. (Ahmed, 2017, p. 32)
The first step in becoming feminist is noticing – we only need to look, and we will see killjoy and the sins everywhere. Konjuring Killjoy is where you become that person.
Keep an ear out - Konjuring Killjoy Ep2: Klaiming Killjoy - is koming soon!
